Guidelines

The International Journal of Design Science (IJDS) invites manuscripts all year round for the sections of the journal, especially for technical, developmental and research aspects of design science.

Content Requirements

1. Original academic articles that examine design in terms of design and other scientific methods are welcomed. If articles present examples of design work, they should include in-depth theoretical analysis or solid data evidence from field investigations. Submitted articles must be original and unpublished and have been approved by all co-authors.
2. Articles are required to be innovative, scholarly, standardized and readable. The language is thoroughly English, the recommended length of the essay is between 8,000-15,000 words, the layout is 8-12 pages, and comply with the relevant style formatting requirements (see the article template for details).
3. All submissions should be submitted online and IJDS recommends using Word 2003/ 2007 when writing your article.
4. Multiple submissions are not allowed. Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent by the Editorial Office within 2 months from the date of receipt of the manuscript; if late, please email the Editorial Office to enquire.
5. IJDS has established a peer review and editorial board review mechanism (three reviews per article) following standard procedures, and decisions on acceptance are made fairly and impartially based on the results of the reviews.
6. The author is solely responsible for the article. The Editorial Board of the Journal reserves the right to make changes to the manuscript or format, and all substantive changes must be agreed by the author.
7. If the author agrees to the article's publication, the property rights contained in the copyright (including any media, language, or form) will be transferred to the IJDS Editorial Board. If the author does not agree, please specify in advance.
8. IJDS does not charge for publication and does not pay for manuscripts. If translation services are required, a fee will be charged.
9. No confidential matters are involved in the submission of manuscripts.
